Price ranges by coverage

Queen of Wraps says coverage "moves the price more than almost anything else" (Queen of Wraps). This is what each level means and what the shops charge for a cargo van.

Partial wrap or lettering for a trades van?

Lettering puts your name, phone, and license on the doors. It starts under $1,000 at all four shops. A partial adds printed color and a service list at eye level, with starting prices of $1,500 to $2,600. If your van is a color you like, lettering or spot graphics cost the least (Chicago Fleet Wraps). If you want the van to read from across a parking lot, a partial is the step up before a full wrap.

Price by van size

Chicago Fleet Wraps prices full wraps by square feet of film. It says "Price follows the square footage of film and the hours to lay it, not the value of the vehicle underneath" (Chicago Fleet Wraps). Its model list shows how size changes the price:

Queen of Wraps and USA Wrap Co both put taller Sprinter and Transit vans at $4,000 to $7,000 for a full wrap (Queen of Wraps, USA Wrap Co).

What drives the cost

1. Vehicle size

More film and more hours cost more. A compact Transit Connect needs 245 square feet of film. An extended high-roof Sprinter needs 625 (Chicago Fleet Wraps).

2. Vinyl grade

Queen of Wraps says budget vinyl can look the same as cast vinyl on day one but "start failing within a year or two," while installed cast vinyl lasts 5 to 7 years (Queen of Wraps). USA Wrap Co gives the same 5 to 7 year figure for premium cast vinyl (USA Wrap Co). Ask which film brand and line your quote uses.

3. Design fees

Design pricing varies the most between shops. Chicago Fleet Wraps includes design in its prices. Wraptor Graphix has a $250 design minimum and charges extra for big illustration jobs and extra revisions (Wraptor). USA Wrap Co says most shops charge $500 to $2,000 for custom design work (USA Wrap Co).

4. Prep, removal, and repairs

Old graphics, peeling clear coat, rust, and dents add cost. Wraptor quotes removal and body repair as separate line items (Wraptor).

5. Fleet size

More vans lower the price per van. Chicago Fleet Wraps lists 3% off for 2 to 4 vehicles, 7% for 5 to 9, 11% for 10 to 24, and 15% for 25 or more (Chicago Fleet Wraps).

Save on design: test concepts first

Design is where the choices pile up: which colors, where the phone number goes, how big the name is. If your shop bills design by the hour or past a minimum, each round costs money. You can settle those choices before you call.

Try it free. Type your business name, phone, website, and colors into the WrapMockup generator. You get 24 watermarked concepts in your browser: 6 styles on 3 vehicles plus a matching yard sign. No account. Every letter is drawn from what you type, so your name and number are spelled right.

Make my free van concepts

Clean files cost $9 for one vehicle plus its yard sign, or $29 for all 24 plus a brand sheet. These are concept proofs, not print files. Your wrap shop builds the print file for your exact year and model.

Start with a page for your trade: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or all trades. Or pick a vehicle: cargo van, pickup, or box truck.

Questions to ask a wrap shop

  1. Is design included? If not, what is the minimum and how many revisions does it cover?
  2. Which vinyl and laminate will you use? Is it cast or calendered film?
  3. What does the warranty cover, and for how long? Is it the film maker's warranty, your workmanship, or both?
  4. What coverage does the quote include? Roof, bumpers, door jambs, and windows?
  5. Do you charge to remove old graphics or fix paint first?
  6. How long will you need the van? Can you pick it up or work after hours?
  7. Do you give fleet discounts if I add a second van next year?
  8. Can I see a proof on my exact van model before you print?

Bring your concept, your logo file, and your van's year, make, model, and roof height. That gives the shop what it needs for a firm quote.
