Van lettering ideas you can preview with your own name
Lettering puts your name, phone, and services on the van without covering the paint. Below are five layouts drawn by the free tool on this page, each for a fictional business. Type your details further down to see yours.

5 sample layouts
Each sample is a cargo van concept rendered by WrapMockup. Names, phone numbers (555-01xx) and websites (.example) are made up.

What each style suits
Minimal lettering
Text on the factory paint with one thin color line along the lower edge. It suits trades that want a tidy, quiet look: locksmiths, cleaners, inspectors, and pest techs whose customers prefer discretion. It is the layout that converts to door magnets or cut vinyl with the least change.
Stripe
A color band with a thin accent pinstripe runs the length of the side above the name, with a thin line low on the body. It suits electricians, glass and window companies, and anyone who wants the van to look marked as a fleet vehicle while most of the paint stays white.
Layout checklist
- Make the business name the largest line. People read the name first, then decide whether to read more.
- Make the phone number the second largest line. A driver behind you has a few seconds at a light.
- Use one tagline with up to three services. A long list turns into gray texture at a distance.
- Add the website if people book or get quotes online. Leave off social handles unless you use them for sales.
- Add your license number if your state or city requires it on vehicles. Our electrician and plumbing guides quote the Texas and California rules.
- Pick a text color that contrasts with the paint. Dark text on a white van, white or light text on a dark van.
- Repeat the name and phone on the other side and on the rear doors. The preview shows one side; your sign shop lays out the rest from it.
- If the van counts as a commercial motor vehicle under federal rules, 49 CFR 390.21 requires your carrier name and USDOT number on both sides. Check with FMCSA or your state DOT.

Questions
What is the difference between van lettering and a van wrap?
Lettering is cut or printed text applied to the factory paint. A wrap covers part or all of the body in printed vinyl. The minimal style on this page shows a lettering layout; the other styles show partial and full wraps.
Can I use these layouts for door magnets?
Yes, as a layout reference. The minimal style keeps all text in one area, so a sign shop can move it to a magnet. Ask the shop for the magnet size that fits your door.
Which lettering style should I pick?
Minimal for the quietest look. Stripe if you want a band of color that marks the van as part of a fleet while most of the paint stays white. Preview both with your name below.
What do I get for free?
24 watermarked previews: 6 styles on a cargo van, a pickup, and a box truck, and a 24x18 yard sign. No account needed.
Are these print-ready wrap files?
No. They are concept proofs. Show them to your wrap shop. The shop builds the print file for your exact year and model.
Will my business name be spelled right?
Yes. All text is drawn from what you type. No AI image model touches the lettering.
