Sprinter van wrap ideas: 6 layouts for the tall side panel
A Mercedes Sprinter has a tall, flat side and a high roof line. That gives you more sign space than a standard cargo van. It brings two traps: a sliding door seam through the middle of the side, and a top panel that is easy to leave empty.
This guide shows 6 layouts that suit a Sprinter, where each piece of text should sit, and what shops charge. All example companies are fictional. To try the layouts with your name, open the free van wrap design tool.
Know the panels before you pick a layout
- The upper side. On a high roof Sprinter, the panel above the windows line is the tallest flat area. It reads from down the street and sits above parked cars.
- The sliding door. The door seam and track cut across the curb side. Chicago Fleet Wraps says the sliding door track area "needs precise trimming to maintain door function" (>Chicago Fleet Wraps). Text that crosses the seam gets split.
- Ribbed side panels. The same shop says the corrugated side panels on 2019 and newer models need extra heat to keep the film from lifting. Fine text over ribs looks wavy.
- The rear doors. Two tall doors with a center split. They face every driver behind you.
6 Sprinter wrap ideas
1. Name high, phone at eye level
Put the business name across the upper side in big letters. Put the phone number lower, at the height of a person on the sidewalk. The name sells from down the street. The phone gets read from the curb. This layout uses the high roof panel the way it should be used.
2. Two-tone with a dark lower half
Color the lower third in your main color and keep the top the factory white. The phone number sits in an accent color on the dark band. A dark lower band hides road spray. The white top keeps the van looking clean between washes.
3. Swoosh from the rear wheel
A curve rises from the rear wheel toward the front. Set the name on the white space above the curve. On a Sprinter, start the swoosh behind the sliding door so the door seam does not cut it.
4. Color block over the cab
A solid block of color covers the front doors and the area behind them. The rest of the van stays white. The cab door holds the name, the phone, and your DOT line if you need one. It is a lower-cost way to make a white van look branded.
5. Minimal lettering on the factory color
Cut vinyl name, phone, and website on a white, silver, or black van. No printed background. It costs the least. On a high roof van, set the name large on the upper panel so the top does not look bare.
6. Full color for delivery and catering
Wrap every side in your main color with white text. Chicago Fleet Wraps says most of its Sprinter clients choose a full wrap, and that delivery, HVAC and plumbing, and catering order Sprinter wraps the most (>Chicago Fleet Wraps). A full color van is the easiest to spot in a lot full of white vans.
Where each piece of text goes
- Business name. Upper side, both sides, largest text.
- Phone number. Second largest, at eye level, on the driver side and on the curb side ahead of or behind the sliding door, not across the seam.
- Website. Short. On the rear doors under the phone.
- Services. Three or four words. "Heating, cooling, water heaters."
- License and DOT lines. Lower cab door. If your Sprinter is rated 10,001 pounds or more and runs across state lines, federal rule 49 CFR 390.21 requires your name and USDOT number on both sides, readable from 50 feet (>eCFR). See USDOT number decal requirements.

It puts a partial wrap on the sides and rear at $2,310 to $3,300 (>Chicago Fleet Wraps). Queen of Wraps gives a planning range of $4,000 to $7,000 for a full wrap on a Sprinter or other high roof van (>Queen of Wraps).
Chicago Fleet Wraps says a full Sprinter wrap takes 16 to 22 labor hours. Simple designs land at the low end. For more shops and coverage levels, read how much a van wrap costs.
